The Ultimate QC Food Crawl: Maginhawa X Malingap

Good eats ahead!

Breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, merienda, dinner, midnight snack—is this your list of meals on a good day? Pinoys love to eat whenever and wherever there’s good grub. That’s why food parks and food crawls are all the rage in the country! If you’re scouting for the best food crawl destination in Quezon City, look no further than the Maginhawa x Malingap intersection. The group of restaurants has definitely expanded, and foodies and hungry families are nothing but grateful. There are so many options that the list is almost impossible to narrow down…almost, but not quite.

From the tried-and-tested classics to the Instagrammable up-and-comers, here are some of our best bets.

Crazy Katsu

There are many Japanese restaurants around town that offer a specialty that’ll keep you coming back for more. For Crazy Katsu, it’s, hands down, the Chicken Katsu. Skip the rice and opt for the Chicken Katsu Salad instead, so you have tummy space for the next stop.

Chef Mos Ribhouse

While Chef Mo’s interiors look posh compared to its more laid-back neighbors, they serve excellent comfort food. It’s a little pricey for a Teacher’s Village staple, but one bite and you can tell that they don’t scrimp on their ingredients. Must-try: Corned Beef Sinigang.

Papa Diddi’s Handcrafted Ice Cream

With ice cream flavors like Davao Meets Bicol, Dragon Fruit, and Pili Leni, you’re bound to discover a new flavor to call your favorite. Break the monotony of a regular chocolate scoop (though their chocolate ice cream is pretty good) and try something new and inherently Pinoy.

Little India Healthy Cuisine

Not everyone can stomach the spices of Indian food, but those who dare will be rewarded at Little India Healthy Cuisine. The little sister of the famous Ashoka restaurant in Los Baños, this resto features vegetarian options even the most carnivorous eaters will appreciate.

Provenciano

Eating out with the entire family? Save them the hassle of a cramped café and head over to Provenciano where the Pinoy food and homey interiors will leave you feeling extremely satisfied. It’s a little bold to say but we’ll go ahead and say it—almost every dish here is a bestseller.

Friuli Trattoria

If you went to college in Katipunan, chances are, you’ve had block lunches here back in the day. If it’s your first time in Maginhawa, however, this might just be the best first stop to get a feel of what the area is all about—a no-frills comfort food haven that offers pocket-friendly options.

Tomato Kick

After a successful tour of the area, we recommend your last stop be at Tomato Kick. While its laid-back atmosphere is perfect for a couple of beers at the end of a long day, you shouldn’t miss out on their menu, either. Choose between the Stuffed Tomatoes or Crispy Bacon Liempo, if you’re looking for strong and satisfying flavors.

Building-Passion-Staycation

After eating and drinking your way through Maginhawa and Malingap, don’t you wish you can call it a day and just chill without having to brave through traffic going home? So we suggest ending your food crawl with a staycation at The Residences at Commonwealth by Century, which is just a 15-minute drive away from Maginhawa Street. With its spacious and secure surroundings, easy access to commercial and recreational establishments, and airy but comfy units, a stay at Commonwealth by Century is sure to turn your gastronomic adventure into a perfect mini-vacay.
