Solo parents, celebrate and be proud!

It’s true, some of the most hardworking people we know are solo parents. There are those who work two shifts a day to support their family. Some take care of their children solely, and sometimes forget that they too need to take better care of themselves. Indeed, solo parents are heroes.

So, this ‘love month,’ Century City Mall honors all solo parents by hosting the “Solo and Proud,” a fun and interactive two-day event full of treats from Century Cafe, as well as financial wellness and self-care talks from industry experts for the benefit of solo parents.

On February 11 and 12, solo parents got to know more about Manulife’s GradMaker, a mobile app that guides the user on how to prepare for the child’s education.

Guest speaker from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, on the other hand, tackled the Solo Parents Welfare Act of 2000 or RA 8972, a law enacted to provide a comprehensive program of services for solo parents and their children. This law covers fathers or mothers who raise their children by themselves as well as those who are left to care for children not their own, such as nephews, nieces, or godchildren.

During the two-day event, lucky guests won cinema tickets for Century City Cinema and an overnight staycation from Siglo Suites at one of the hot properties of Century Properties.

For a limited time, this month, solo parents who already have the “Solo Parent ID” gets a FREE Limited-Edition Valentine Teddy if they make purchases at Century City Mall worth at least Php500. Plus, those who wish to enroll at Curves gets 50% off when they sign up within the month of February.  For more details, visit www.centurycitymall.com.ph.
