Century Properties with Paris Hilton recently unveiled the Paris Beach Club, Azure Urban Resort Residence’s main amenity that she designed, marking her first foray in the real еstatе business.

“This is my dream project. I have been to all around the world, in the most incredible places, so I basically took all of my favorite aspects of those locations and placed it all in the Paris Beach Club. So, it has an international flair,” said Paris Hilton in the press conference held recently in Bicutan, Paranaque City.

Beach in the City

Dubbed as the first resort-themed development in Manila, this offering of Century Properties features the man-made Azure Beach, the centerpiece of the multi-level Paris Beach Club.

The man-made beach has undulating waves and fine white sand imported from Masbate. It also has a waterfall, poolside bar, and an infinity pool overflowing into the private beach coves at the ends of the property.

Complementing this is the club featuring a high-ceilinged lobby, tastefully designed with chandeliers and black velvet chairs, and an ice cream and candy bar on the ground level. On the second floor, there are separate spas and locker rooms with a social lounge. The topmost floor has indoor and outdoor restaurants with a view of the Azure Beach. Facilities also include a movie room, gym and fitness center, soft play and indoor playground, and game room. These will be for the exclusive use of the unit owners and their guests.

“We wanted to provide our residents with a world-class residential resort experience so we chose to partner with an equally world-class personality,” said John Victor R. Antonio, Century Properties COO in a statement.

Paris the Designer

“The Paris Beach Club, after she designed it, she said, ‘I wanted to open it’ so we had to wait for this day to come,” said Jordan Ongtangco, concierge manager, during a media tour on the property.

In 2011, Hilton first came to the Philippines and signed a partnership with Century Properties to design the main amenity named after the American socialite and actress and to promote the development. She provided 15 interior design books to guide the design team.

Antonio elaborated, “The architects made a master plan and we made it in CGI. Each and every room here she actually designed in CGI and we went back and forth. When everything was frozen, we began constructing it. It’s a reverse, not like the typical way to construct a project.”

Nine Towers

Azure Urban Resort Residences is a six-hectare development with nine towers named after the world’s popular beach destinations – Rio, Santorini, St. Tropez, Positano, Maui, Maldives, Miami, Bahamas, and Boracay. All towers have a roof deck featuring a garden and beehive-like seating area for socialization.

All of the towers have been opened for sale last June 2013 and were already 86 percent pre-sold as of December 2013. After turning over close to 1,300 units last year, Century is launching 550 more units this month in the newly-completed St. Tropez tower, the third of the nine buildings.

The two buildings, Rio and Santorini, were already completed and are currently have hundred unit owners who already moved in.

The third and fourth projects have also topped off, while its ninth tower, the Bahamas, has launched more than 800 units.

“The total development is less than 6,000 units. Generally, we have, give or take, less than 200 units left to sell so with the opening of club house and beach area, in a next few months we will be sold out,” he said in an interview.

A typical price for a one-bedroom unit that is 29.6 sqm in the newly-opened Bahamas tower is worth P4.1 million. This makes it around P140, 000 per sqm.

With Hilton’s second visit in the country, the company also said in a statement that it expects sales of the remaining units to reach a record level. Her first visit in Manila had boosted pre-sales. Earlier, Century also reported that its 2013 reservation sales of its residential and commercial projects rose to P24.6 billion.

Upon completion of the total development, Azure will have over 330,000 sqm of built floor area. According to Ongtangco, the number of units for each building varies, but it usually ranges from 600 to 700.

Highlighting the development’s eco-friendly features, Antonio said that there are more open space and roads in Azure, occupying 65 percent, while the buildings only comprise 35 percent.

Other ecological features include how the windows are angled to reduce heat and how the roof decks can recycle water. Century has availed of the services of Broadway Malyan which Antonio described as “one of the foremost eco-architects.”
