FIVE months after Century Properties formally announced its collaboration with Daniel Libeskind, and Armani/Casa Interior Design Studio for the 60-story office and residential tower Century Spire, pre sales have already reached unprecedented figures.
The latest addition to the high-end residential developments inside Century City—the master planned development of premiere residential, office and commercial buildings in Kalayaan Avenue—Century Spire tallied 64 percent sold units, almost a week before its principal designer world-renowned New York-based architect Daniel Libeskind arrived to unveil his latest project in Asia.
Together with the The Armani/Casa Interior Design Studio, Libeskind joined the officials of Century Properties at the project’s groundbreaking rites held this week.
“Daniel Libeskind’s design brings another dimension to Century City. He has given us something really iconic in Century Spire. This building will not only change the architectural landscape of Makati, but will likewise elevate the Philippines’ image as a world-class destination,” says Jose E.B. Antonio, Executive Chairman of the Board of Century Properties Group, Inc.
Daniel Libeskind states, “I am delighted to be part of a project destined to reshape Manila’s skyline and to make a bold and optimistic statement about the future of the Philippines.”
“It is a privilege to work with a visionary like Daniel Libeskind. Together with Armani/Casa, he will set the bar even higher for condominium design in the Philippines through Century Spire,” says Robbie Antonio, Century Properties Managing Director and Century Spire Project Head.
The Armani/Casa Interior Design Studio has provided complete interior design services to private individuals and property developers since 2003 under the artistic direction of Giorgio Armani. For Century Spire, it is responsible for the design of common spaces and amenities, which include the grand lobby, library, swimming pool with juice bar and relaxation area, as well as the spa, gym, and fitness areas. In addition, on request, residential apartments can be delivered with full Armani/Casa interior design, finish and furniture as a special commission.
Commenting on the project, Giorgio Armani, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Armani Group, said: ‘I am very happy with this collaboration, and I think that the combination of my vision with that of Daniel Libeskind will lead to the creation of a truly special place, characterized by elegance and a unique charm.’
The building is a glass-clad high-rise tower that expands with a dramatic crown, as it rises. As the Century Spire’s tower shaft extrudes upwards from the street, it divides subtly into three branches that rise to different heights.
