Aside from all the treats and surprises Century City Mall has in store for everyone this Yuletide season, there’s a particular spot that has given me all the reason I need to keep coming back to the newest modern mall in Makati. Manila, say hello to “Hole in the Wall,” a dining hall that’s anything but your usual commercial food court.
I don’t intend to sound cliché, but Hole in the Wall is really really COOL, there’s no better word for it. It is a very attractive picture of organized chaos, with its mismatched seats and tables, various themed dining pockets with unique wood and steel accents, the abundance of indoor foliage and the festive light bulb fixtures strung about the place. It sure makes for a creative dining environment that exactly suits the variety of meals each food concession offers.
Hole in the Wall currently offers eight food concept stores, all newcomers in the dining scene, and all with unique and innovative dining themes. To begin with, we can’t get enough of Bad Bird’s insanely good Umami fried chicken, crisp and flavorful to the core and goes best with their corn on a cob and coleslaw. Phobobo’s rich and herby Pho Bo, made from scratch with the freshest ingredients, is also worth a try, along with their ox-tail bahn mi. For your cold-pressed juice fix, Spruce Juice has also recently opened up shop, although they’re still on soft opening so juice varieties are still limited.
Scout’s Honor by Chef Miko Aspiras is every sweet tooth’s dream; they offer an assortment of unique cookie creations like their Matcha Sesame cookies and Cookie Inception (chocolate chip cookies stuffed with Oreos). But what really takes the cake is their extensive make-your-own cookie selection, wherein you get to choose and mix over 6 types of cookie dough and a wide array of sweet and savory toppings. Our best bet is their double chocolate fudge cookie topped with white chocolate chunks and roasted macadamia, so much WIN!
A bunch of other food stalls are still set to open in the future, so it’s worth dropping by HITW a second time to check them out. We’re eager to try out Liberation Shawarma by Sarsa’s Chef JP Anglo, and we’re definitely coming back for Kwong’s Salted Egg Chicken Wings, as well as Mister Delicious’ Wagyu Pastrami Reuben, both sound extremely promising.
After treating your tummies to a hearty meal, there’s no better way to burn all that goodness than to shop your heart out at Century City Mall. Not only will you get some good cardio, you also stand a chance at winning PHP 2,000 worth of Century City Mall gift certificates with every PHP 10,000 worth of purchases. Or if you’re gutsy and creative enough, join Century Mall’s “Kiss, Tell, and Win a Prize” contest by taking a selfie underneath the many mistletoes found in the mall (kissing subjects need not be limited to humans! You may kiss your pet, or any random object) and posting your entries on Instagram with the hashtag #KissandTell and #LoveChristmas. Don’t forget to tag @CenturyCityMall as well, and you may just be one of six winners to nab TEN FREE CINEMA TICKETS at Centuy City Mall’s cinemas! That’s a lot of movies!
When in Manila, here’s no better place to #LoveChristmas than at Century City Mall!
