Century Properties Group, Inc., is partnering with Italian designer Giorgio Armani’s outfit Armani/Casa Interior Design Studio to develop its newest project Century Spire.
Armani will be responsible for the interior design of the residential units in the 68,000 square-meter-development designed by award-winning architectural firm Studio Daniel Libeskind.
Libeskind won the competition to be the master plan architect for the reconstruction of the World Trade Center.
Century Spire is expected to generate P8 billion in sales. The units will sell for P350,000 per sqm, higher than the industry standard of P200,000 per sqm.
“If the architect’s aim is to create remarkable spaces, then it is my aim to bring these to life through my interior-design aesthetic. I am very pleased to be partnering Armani/Casa with Century Properties, and believe that the combination of Daniel Libeskind’s vision and my own will result in a truly remarkable place to live, full of elegance and wonder,” Armani, president of the Armani Group, was quoted as saying in a statement released by Century Properties.
Century Spire’s is designed to be a full-glass, mixed-use development with the first floors allocated for office use and the upper floors the residential portion of suites, one-, and two-bedroom units.
Armani will also design the common areas and amenities, Century Spire.
Among the Armani/Casa Interior Design Studio’s most recent projects: Maçka Residences in Istanbul, Turkey and The World Towers in Mumbai, India.
Armani/Casa is present in 40 countries worldwide, with a total of 53 outlets, comprising 31 mono-brand stores and 22 shops-in-shops.
Century Properties said Century Spire will showcase residential units “characterized by elegant spaces and graceful interiors, not to mention amazing views of the Makati skyline,” the financial centre of the Philippines and one of the major commercial and economic hubs in Asia.
“We wanted to work with a brand that could bring an eminent degree of sophistication to this singular building. Armani/Casa fits the bill perfectly. Their designs are sophisticated, comfortable and functional. They not only fit the Studio Daniel Libeskind aesthetic but bring an extraordinary level of quality to their interior design work,” said Jose E.B. Antonio, Century Properties Executive Chairman of the Board.
Century Spire is the eighth development in Century Property’s 3.4 hectare-Century City, the site of the then Makati-based International School of Manila along Kalayaan Ave., after Gramercy Residences, Trump Tower Philippines, Milano Residences, The Knightsbridge Residences, Centuria Medical Center and Century City Mall.
