Century Properties taps Armani for luxury tower project

MANILA, Philippines – Century Properties Group has teamed up with Italian fashion icon Giorgio Armani to design luxury residential units  for its latest skyscraper, Century Spire, which is seen to generate sales of around  P8 billion.

The 60-story Century Spire is the last of the five upscale residential towers to rise in the company’s 3.4-hectare flagship mixed-use development Century City in Makati.

The Italian fashion legend  will undertake the project through his interior design firm Armani/Casa, whose most recent projects include The World Towers in Mumbai and the Macka Residences in Istanbul.

Aside from the residential units, the Armani/Casa interior design team will be in charge of common areas and amenities as well as the custom-made fixtures, fittings and furnishings.

On the other hand, world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, the brains behind the redevelopment of World Trade Center in New  York,  has been tapped to handle the centerpiece building.

Century Spire, the latest addition to a group of skyscrapers which includes a Trump Tower, Versace-designed Milano Residences, is targeted for completion in 2018.

Commenting on the partnership, Century Properties Executive Chairman of the Board Jose E.B. Antonio said:  “We wanted to work with a brand that could bring an eminent degree of sophistication to this singular building. Armani/Casa fits the bill perfectly. Their designs are sophisticated, comfortable and functional. They not only fit the Studio Daniel Libeskind aesthetic but bring an extraordinary level of quality to their interior design work.”

Armani, who is president and CEO of the Armani Group, for his part, said:  “If the architect’s aim is to create remarkable spaces, then it is my aim to bring these to life through my interior-design aesthetic. I am very pleased to be partnering Armani/Casa with Century Properties, and believe that the combination of Daniel Libeskind’s vision and my own will result in a truly remarkable place to live, full of elegance and wonder.”

Apart from the residential towers, Century City will also have high-rise office buildings, an outpatient medical arts center  and a lifestyle mall to cater to the needs of its residents and tenants.

The Armani Group is one of the leading fashion and luxury goods companies in the world, with over 6,500 employees and 12 factories.

Aside from Century City, the company is accelerating the completion of other masterplanned developments such as Azure Urban Residences in Paranaque City and Acqua Residences in Mandaluyong City.

Century Properties  is the developer of the posh Essensa East Forbes in Fort Bonifacio and Pacific Star Building. Its portfolio also includes the country’s first fully-fitted and fully-furnished condominium South of Market (“SOMA”) in Fort Bonifacio, SOHO Central in the Greenfield District of Mandaluyong City, Pacific Place in Ortigas and a collection of French-inspired condominiums in Makati City called Le Triomphe, Le Domaine and Le Metropole.
