Century Properties resumes high rise project construction after COVID-19 testing 935 workers, completing site safety requirements

[July 2020] Listed real estate developer Century Properties Group [CPG:PM] announced that is has resumed construction operations after completing the COVID-19 rapid testing of 935 workers and site personnel as well as other requirements from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, including the provision of hygienic on-site quarters and facilities for its project sites in Century City, Makati; the Residences at Azure North in San Fernando, Pampanga; and the Residences at Commonwealth in Quezon City.

The tests were conducted in line with CPG’s ongoing COVID-19 prevention and safety measures for its office-based employees, on-site personnel, and construction workers. In May, CPG also facilitated the testing of more than 800 workers in the five project sites of its affordable housing business PHirst Park Homes located in Tanza, Cavite; Lipa, Batangas; San Pablo and Calamba, Laguna; and Pandi, Bulacan. This brings the total number to more than 1,735 tested construction workers and site personnel.

Aside from rapid testing, the company is strictly implementing health protocols such as daily temperature scanning and health monitoring, safety orientations, the mandatory wearing of masks, and observing physical distancing. Handwashing areas are provided to make it a habit for workers to wash their hands more frequently. Each worker received a health kit with face masks and vitamins.

CPG President and CEO Marco R. Antonio is leading the efforts with the company’s human resources team to safely resume operations and reopen construction sites after three months of government lockdowns due to COVID-19. “Despite the most challenging circumstances, we are forging ahead with construction work to deliver our commitment to our buyers, but with the proper safety measures for our people. Critical health protocols like this contribute to the safety and wellbeing of the communities and cities where we operate in,” he said.

The simultaneous testings were conducted in cooperation with CPG’s outpatient medical facility Centuria Medical Makati at Century City.

Now on its 34th year in the real estate industry, CPG has close to 19,000 units in its multi-tower condominium projects at the Residences at Commonwealth in Quezon City, the Resort Residences at Azure North in San Fernando, Pampanga; Acqua Private Residences in Mandaluyong City; Century City, Makati; and Azure Urban Resort Residences in Paranaque City.

Under the brand PHirst Park Homes and in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation, CPG’s affordable housing business has so far launched 6 masterplanned communities with 9,820 house and lot units in 104 hectares in Tanza, Cavite; San Pablo and Calamba, Laguna; Pandi, Bulacan; and Lipa and Nasugbu in Batangas. #
