BMW’s Biggest Showroom in PH to Rise in Bonifacio

The distributor of BMW in the Philippines last week held a ground-breaking ceremony at the site of what will be the auto brand’s biggest showroom in the country.

Set to open in 2015 is BMW Bonifacio Global City, which will be housed within an ultra-modern and environment-friendly 23-story building at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 27th Street in Bonifacio. The entire ground floor of the building, measuring 2,000 square meters, will be occupied by the BMW showroom while a quick-service facility will sit on the second floor. The rest of the building—designed by Singapore architectural firm Pomeroy Studio and owned by Century Properties—will be allotted for corporate offices, including those of BMW distributor Asian Carmakers Corp. (ACC).

ACC President Maricar Parco called the future dealership as a “testament to BMW’s continued leadership and pioneering innovation in the automotive industry,” as well as proof of the auto brand’s “strengthened confidence in the growing Filipino market.”

ACC noted that the building housing BMW Bonifacio Global City aspires for LEED certification, an international program that recognizes the environmental systems in infrastructures. BMW Group Asia Managing Director Neil Fiorentinos likened the building’s sleek lines and its ability to deliver more power for less energy to BMW cars.

BMW Bonifacio Global City, set to be BMW’s ninth showroom in the country, can display 20 cars in its showroom and will also sell BMW motorcycles. It is expected to have an area devoted to the brand’s lifestyle merchandise that counts apparel, novelty items, accessories, and sports gear, as well as a swanky lounge called Isetta Bar, named after the BMW micro-car from the 1950s.
