The shortlisted developers, developments and property industry companies for the 2012 South East Asia Property Awards have been revealed.
“The quality of entries this year was outstanding, which certainly made the judges’ job a tough one,” said Terry Blackburn, CEO of Ensign Media, the organisers of the event.
“The fact that the number of highest quality projects going up in almost every corner of South East Asia really shows that the region’s time to shine on the world stage is now. There are some truly exceptional properties on the shortlist and we’re confident that the South East Asia Property Awards will become the benchmark by which to recognise them.”
Intense discussions took place among the judging panel and final decisions were agreed based on the entry criteria and inspections by specialist teams in each of the locations covered by the awards, including Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
For the non-development awards, which include Best Developer and Best Property Consultancy, the panel of expert judges reviewed entries and submitted their scores according to the published criteria to BDO Advisory. The panel then met to discuss and select a final short-list in the presence of a representative from BDO.
For the development awards, a local team visited each of the short-listed developments and conducted a face-to-face meeting with project senior executives as well as a site inspection, after which the local judges met privately to discuss the merits of each development, with a representative of BDO present. After all short-listed entrants were visited, the local judges convened to decide upon the shortlist and submit their decisions to a representative of BDO.
The editors at South East Asia Property Report magazine have also selected Jose E. B. Antonio, Executive Chairman of the Board of Century Properties Group Inc. for the prestigious Property Report Real Еstatе Personality of the Year Award. He and his wife will attend the event to receive the award in person.
The Gala Awards dinner takes place in Singapore on Wednesday, November 21.
