PIAlosophies: Catching Up with Pia Wurtzbach During Quarantine

One way or another, living under quarantine has changed our lives. From learning to appreciate life’s essentials to widening our horizons from the comforts of home – we’re all coping and adjusting to the new normal brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. For someone who is used to being on-the-go all the time, Miss Universe 2015 and Century Properties ambassador Pia Wurtzbach welcomed the idea of staying home with open arms. Not only did she made use of her time working on her advocacies and revisiting old hobbies, she also took the quarantine as an opportunity to enjoy her very first condo home to the fullest.

In a special live episode of Inside Century, Century Properties had the chance to chat with Pia about what’s keeping her busy these days, her projects with WWF-Philippines, and the perks of living in a Century home. As a bonus treat to her followers, she gave a tour of her space and we learned interesting details about her daily routine and the pieces found in her condo.

Staying busy amidst quarantine

Browsing through Pia’s Instagram grid will give you a glimpse of what she’s been up to these past few months. From exercising regularly and making a cup of Dalgona coffee, Queen P sure knows how to maximize each day. “I have a few tips for everyone on what really works for me. Have a routine and know what you’re going to do for a day. I get my work done in the morning, I reply to messages – just work. I work out and have Me-time. I balance the things I have to do and want to do para work and play pa din,” she shares.

Pia’s living area features an inviting couch in her favorite color – blue. The huge windows give her a view of Century City.

One of the things she’s rediscovered is her love for cooking and baking. In one of her posts, she even proudly shared a photo of a Strawberry Cheesecake she made. Pia also tried baking other treats which she sent to friends as a way of letting them know she’s thinking of them. Aside from old hobbies she’s found the time to do again, Pia also started taking photographs of the skyline as seen on her feed. Her condo unit has a fantastic view of the city, allowing her to capture its beauty day and night.

Starting a fundraiser and working with WWF

Recognizing that our frontliners need help to ensure their safety, Pia also started an online fundraising campaign with a goal of providing 25,000 medical masks to frontliners in different hospitals around Metro Manila. With the support of her friends, followers, and generous donors, Pia’s fundraiser was able to deliver hundreds of thousands of masks to frontliners. Queen P shared updates on her Instagram and even did the repacking at the Events Center of Century City Mall.

“We exceeded our goal of raising Php600, 000. We were able to provide 44, 000 masks to our frontliners,” she happily shared. Her successful fundraiser didn’t go unnoticed as WWF-Philippines got in touch with her to see if she can help push their other campaigns as well. “WWF is one of the biggest NGOs in the world. I said yes right away,” she exclaimed. On her Instagram, you will see the different WWF programs she’s pushing for – some of which include providing access to electricity and clean water to far-flung provinces. Century Properties has also been partnering with WWF over the years for its Earth Hour movement and plastic pollution campaign.

Life as a Century City resident

Pia has finally moved into her Century home and it feels like heaven for the beauty queen. “I want to inspire others and show them that hard work really pays off. When you are at this age, you should start having a proper investment. If you are dreaming of having a home, it’s possible,” she mused. Living in Century City has been very convenient for Pia. “Everything is nearby. I live a few steps away from a convenience store, from a hospital, and a mall. All of my essentials are here. Hindi ko na kailangan ng kotse, naglalakad lang ako,” she exclaimed. Century City in Makati is a vertical village of designer residential towers, office buildings, the outpatient medical center Centuria Medical Makati, and lifestyle hub Century City Mall. The residential towers include the New York-inspired Gramercy Residences, London-inspired Knightsbridge Residences, Milano Residences (with interiors designed by Versace Home), Trump Tower Philippines, and Century Spire (with interiors designed by Armani/Casa).

Apart from these conveniences, Pia bared that she feels safe in her home because of the dedication of Century’s service champions from Century Properties Management, Inc. Especially now, she appreciates the safety measures being observed within Century City. From doing regular temperature checks and having a misting booth, to the mandatory wearing of face masks and putting systems in place to ensure the health and safety of everyone – Pia lauds the passion for service of the staff. “I feel safe, if there’s something I need, there’s somebody there to help me. They are always willing to help. Parang magkakakilala na kami. Thank you so much for taking care of us. I see the hard work you do,” she said.

Pia’s #condogoals

Subdued colors and calming neutrals dominate Pia’s condo unit as she doesn’t want to have an overly feminine space. Cozy, bright, and welcoming – it’s easy to feel at home the moment you step inside the unit. Some of its striking features include the blue couch that’s comfy and inviting in Pia’s lucky color, her collection of gadgets, a sleek kitchen that allows her to still entertain guests while cooking, a spacious balcony filled with plants, a makeup room perfect for getting glammed up, and an envy-worthy bathroom with an interesting smart glass.

From choosing the furniture pieces (some of which are similar to the ones Kylie Jenner owns) and having a say on the look and feel of her first home, it’s safe to say that Pia has achieved her #condogoals. “For me, #condogoals should fit your lifestyle, personalized for you, and follows your aesthetic,” she explained. As a city girl who is used to having conveniences nearby, it’s safe to say that Pia has achieved her dream home for keeps. Not only can she get access to essentials easily, she can also indulge in her passions in the comfort of her own space.
